About Mahatma Gandhi University
Mahatma Gandhi University, Meghalaya (MGU Meghalaya), established in 2011 by an Act of the Meghalaya state legislature, is the state university of Meghalaya — and one of the two private state universities to use the 'Mahatma Gandhi University' name (the other being MGU Kerala, which is a state government uni). Located at Khanapara-Jorabat, Ri-Bhoi district near Guwahati (Assam), the university is part of the Mahatma Gandhi University Trust founded by Lalit Kumar Mukherjee.
MGU Meghalaya has multiple schools — Engineering & Technology, Sciences, Computer Applications, Management, Education, Law, Commerce, Mass Communication, Health Sciences and Liberal Arts. Offers UG, PG, Diploma and PhD programmes. Recognised by UGC under Section 2(f).
Admissions through MGU Meghalaya Entrance Test or merit on Plus Two/UG marks. JEE Main, GATE, CAT, CUET UG/PG accepted. PhD through MGU Meghalaya PhD entrance.
