About Martin Luther Christian University
Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU), established in 2005 by an Act of the Meghalaya state legislature, is a private state university located at Nongrah, Dongktieh, Shillong. The university is named after Martin Luther — the 16th-century German theologian who initiated the Protestant Reformation. MLCU is one of the first private universities in the North-East and is run by the Bishop-Christ-Church based Christian education society. It was the first Christian university in India to be granted university status.
MLCU has multiple schools — Behavioural Sciences, Business & Management, Communication, Education, Health Sciences (Public Health, Nursing, Physiotherapy), Indigenous Studies, Music, Religious Studies, Sciences and Social Work. Strong programmes in social work, public health and indigenous studies. NAAC accredited.
Admissions through MLCU Entrance Test + interview or merit on Plus Two/UG marks. CUET UG/PG accepted for select programmes. PhD through MLCU PhD entrance.
