About University of Science and Technology Meghalaya

University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya (USTM), established in 2008 by an Act of the Meghalaya state legislature, is a private state university located at 9th Mile, Techno City, Ri-Bhoi district (on the Meghalaya-Assam border, near Guwahati). USTM is one of the largest and most well-known private universities in the entire North-East region, with a sprawling campus and student body drawn from all 8 NE states. The university was founded by Mahbubul Hoque — a prominent NE education entrepreneur.

USTM has 16 schools — Engineering & Technology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Sciences, Computer Applications, Management, Education, Law, Architecture, Commerce, Mass Communication, Hotel Management, Health Sciences, Liberal Arts and Allied. The Mahbubul Hoque Memorial Hospital is the flagship medical facility. The University has an MBBS programme (recognised by NMC). NAAC accredited.
