About Fakir Mohan University
Fakir Mohan University (FMU), established in 1999 in Balasore by an Act of the Odisha state legislature, is a state university serving the northern coastal Odisha region. The university is named after Fakir Mohan Senapati — the 19th-century Odia novelist and litterateur (often called the father of modern Odia literature, who wrote Chha Mana Atha Guntha). The campus is at Vyasa Vihar, Balasore.
Fakir Mohan University has 16 PG teaching departments organised into faculties of Arts, Social Sciences, Sciences, Commerce, Education, Law and Management. It affiliates 75+ UG colleges across Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts. NAAC A grade accredited.
UG admissions to affiliated colleges through Odisha SAMS on Plus Two merit. PG admissions through FMU PG entrance or CUET PG. PhD through FMU PhD entrance.
