About Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) is a private deemed university located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Founded in 1992 by Dr Achyuta Samanta with just twelve students and two faculty members, KIIT was granted Deemed-to-be-University status under Section 3 of the UGC Act in 2004 — within just seven years of inception. Today, KIIT has 30,000+ students from across India and 60+ countries, with a fully residential 36-square-kilometre campus.

KIIT operates 28 schools and several centres of excellence offering 100+ programmes across UG, PG, integrated, dual-degree and PhD levels. Major streams include Engineering & Technology (KIIT School of Engineering), Medical Sciences (KIMS), Dental Sciences, Law (KIIT School of Law), Management (KIIT School of Management/KSOM), Computer Applications, Biotechnology, Architecture, Fashion, Mass Communication, and Film & Media.

Most KIIT UG admissions — including B.Tech, BBA, B.Com, BCA, BA, integrated programmes, BSc and law — are conducted through the KIIT Entrance Examination (KIITEE), an online remote-proctored exam held in three phases each year. Medical/dental admissions are via NEET UG; PG management uses KIITEE Management or CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT.
