About Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University
Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University (MSCBDU), established in 1998 as North Orissa University by an Act of the Odisha state legislature and renamed in 2020 in honour of Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo (the 19th-century Bhanj ruler of Mayurbhanj princely state who championed education and social reform), is a state university located at Takatpur, Baripada (Mayurbhanj district). MSCBDU serves the northern Odisha region — Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Sundargarh districts.
MSCBDU has 16 PG teaching departments organised into faculties of Arts, Social Sciences, Sciences, Commerce, Education, Law and Management. It affiliates 75+ UG and PG colleges across northern Odisha. NAAC A grade accredited. The Department of Tribal Studies and Department of Santali Language are research-focal given the tribal Santal population of Mayurbhanj.
UG admissions to affiliated colleges through Odisha SAMS on Plus Two merit. PG admissions through MSCBDU PG entrance or CUET PG. PhD through MSCBDU PhD entrance.
