About Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology
Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), established in 1962 by the OUAT Act 1965 (operational from 1962 by the Government of Odisha), is the principal state agricultural university of Odisha and one of the oldest State Agricultural Universities (SAUs) in India — second only to GBPUAT Pantnagar (1960). Headquartered at Siripur, Bhubaneswar, OUAT was created to address Odisha's agriculture, fisheries, animal husbandry, forestry and home science education and research needs through the land-grant university model.
OUAT has 9 constituent colleges — College of Agriculture (Bhubaneswar), College of Agriculture (Chiplima, Sambalpur), College of Agriculture (Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi), College of Veterinary Sciences (Bhubaneswar), College of Fisheries (Rangeilunda, Berhampur), College of Forestry (Bhubaneswar), College of Home Science (Bhubaneswar), College of Agricultural Engineering & Technology (Bhubaneswar), College of Basic Sciences and Humanities (Bhubaneswar) — plus 4 KVKs and 14 Regional Research Stations. ICAR-accredited SAU.
UG admissions through OUAT Entrance Test (state quota 85%) and ICAR AIEEA UG (15% national quota). PG/PhD through ICAR AIEEA PG / AICE-JRF and OUAT-conducted entrances. The OUAT Entrance covers BSc Agri/Hort/Forestry/Fisheries, BVSc & AH, BTech Agri Engg and B.Sc Community Sciences.
