About Rama Devi Women’s University
Rama Devi Women's University (RDWU), established in 2015 by an Act of the Odisha state legislature (continuing the legacy of Rama Devi Women's College founded in 1964), is a state women's university located at Vidya Vihar, Bhubaneswar. The university is named after Rama Devi Choudhury — the prominent freedom fighter and social reformer of Odisha (Gandhian and feminist). RDWU is the only women-only state university in Odisha and admits only female students.
RDWU has 18 PG teaching departments organised into faculties of Arts, Social Sciences, Sciences, Commerce, Education and Management. The Department of Home Science, the Department of Women's Studies and the Centre for Gender Studies are research-focal units. NAAC A grade accredited. The university maintains the historic RD Women's College heritage building.
UG admissions through Odisha SAMS (women candidates only) on Plus Two merit. PG admissions through RDWU PG entrance or CUET PG. PhD through RDWU PhD entrance. Women-only admissions for all programmes.
