About Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology

Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), established in 2009 by an Act of the Odisha state legislature (continuing the legacy of University College of Engineering Burla founded in 1956), is a state technological university located at Burla, Sambalpur. The university is named after Veer Surendra Sai — the 19th-century freedom fighter and revolutionary leader of western Odisha who fought against British colonial rule.

VSSUT has 9 departments — Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Production Engineering, Chemical Engineering and Metallurgical Engineering, plus departments of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Humanities & Social Sciences and Management. Offers B.Tech, M.Tech, MCA, MBA and PhD programmes. NAAC A grade accredited; recognised by AICTE/NBA-accredited programmes.
