About Akal University

Akal University, established in 2015 by an Act of the Punjab state legislature, is a private state university located at Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda district, Punjab. The university is part of the Akal Educational Trust (separate from Akal Education Trust running Guru Kashi University) and is associated with the Sikh educational mission. Talwandi Sabo is historically significant as Guru Ki Kashi.

Akal University has multiple schools — Engineering & Technology, Sciences, Computer Applications, Management, Education, Commerce, Liberal Arts, Sikh Studies and Languages. The Department of Punjabi and Department of Sikh Studies are research-focal units. Recognised by UGC under Section 2(f).
