About Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University
Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), established in 2005 by an Act of the Punjab state legislature, is the state veterinary and animal sciences university of Punjab. Headquartered at Ludhiana, GADVASU was formed by separating the College of Veterinary Sciences and the dairy programmes from PAU Ludhiana into a dedicated veterinary university. The university is named after Guru Angad Dev — the second Sikh Guru, who is credited with standardising the Gurmukhi script.
GADVASU has 5 colleges — College of Veterinary Science (Ludhiana), College of Dairy Science & Technology (Ludhiana), College of Fisheries (Ludhiana), College of Animal Biotechnology (Ludhiana), College of Veterinary Science (Rampura Phul). The university operates 6 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs). ICAR-accredited state veterinary university; recognised by Veterinary Council of India (VCI).
UG admissions to BVSc & AH and BTech Dairy Technology through GADVASU Entrance Test (state quota 85%) and ICAR AIEEA UG (15% national quota). PG/PhD through ICAR AIEEA PG / AICE-JRF.
