About Guru Kashi University
Guru Kashi University (GKU), established in 2011 by an Act of the Punjab state legislature, is a private state university located at Talwandi Sabo, Bathinda district, Punjab. The university is run by the Akal Education Trust (associated with the Damdami Taksal — a prominent Sikh religious institution). Talwandi Sabo is historically significant as the place where Guru Gobind Singh (10th Sikh Guru) re-edited and finalised the Guru Granth Sahib in 1705-1706, earning the place the name "Guru ki Kashi" (Kashi of the Guru).
Guru Kashi University has multiple schools — Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy, Sciences, Computer Applications, Management, Education, Law, Commerce, Mass Communication, Hotel Management and Health Sciences. Offers UG, PG, Diploma and PhD programmes. Recognised by UGC under Section 2(f).
Admissions through Guru Kashi University Entrance Test or merit on Plus Two/UG marks. JEE Main, GATE, CAT, CUET UG/PG accepted. PhD through GKU PhD entrance.
