About Plaksha University Punjab

Plaksha University, established in 2021 by an Act of the Punjab state legislature, is a private state university located at IT City, SAS Nagar (Mohali), Punjab. The university is a unique initiative — co-founded by 70+ prominent Indian and global academic, industry and entrepreneurial leaders (including Ratan Tata, Anand Mahindra, Ashwin Mahesh, V. Mohandas Pai). Plaksha is positioned as a research-intensive, multidisciplinary technology university aimed at producing future innovators and engineers — modelled on Stanford-Olin College of Engineering principles. Named after the legendary Plaksha tree.

Plaksha University offers programmes in Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence, Robotics & Cyber-Physical Systems, Biological Systems Engineering, Data Science, Economics & Quantitative Finance, Tech Leadership & Entrepreneurship, and PhD. Strong emphasis on project-based learning, industry-academia collaboration and international exposure. NAAC accreditation pending. Plaksha admits a small, highly selective cohort.
