About Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University
Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University, Ferozepur, established in 2021 by an Act of the Punjab state legislature (continuing the legacy of Shaheed Bhagat Singh State Technical Campus Ferozepur founded in 1999), is a state university located at Ferozepur. The university is named after Shaheed Bhagat Singh — the iconic freedom fighter and revolutionary who was hanged in 1931 at the age of 23. Ferozepur is associated with the Lahore Conspiracy Case and the assembly bombing for which Bhagat Singh was tried.
Shaheed Bhagat Singh State University has multiple departments — Engineering & Technology, Sciences, Computer Applications, Management, Education, Commerce and Liberal Arts. Offers UG, PG, Diploma and PhD programmes. Recognised by UGC under Section 2(f).
B.Tech admissions through JEE Main with state quota counselling by DTE Punjab. Other programmes through SBSSU Entrance Test or merit on Plus Two/UG marks. PhD through SBSSU PhD entrance.
