About Sardar Beant Singh State University
Sardar Beant Singh State University, Gurdaspur, established in 2021 by an Act of the Punjab state legislature (continuing the legacy of Beant College of Engineering and Technology Gurdaspur founded in 1995), is a state university located at Gurdaspur. The university is named after Sardar Beant Singh — the former Chief Minister of Punjab who was assassinated in 1995 and is regarded as a martyr of the Punjab anti-terrorism era.
Sardar Beant Singh State University has multiple departments — Engineering & Technology, Sciences, Computer Applications, Management, Commerce, Education and Liberal Arts. The university maintains the engineering legacy of Beant College of Engineering. Recognised by UGC under Section 2(f).
B.Tech admissions through JEE Main with state quota counselling by DTE Punjab. Other programmes through SBSSU Entrance Test or merit on Plus Two/UG marks. PhD through SBSSU PhD entrance.
