About Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University
Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University (SGGSWU) is a state university located at Fatehgarh Sahib in Punjab, established in 2008 by the Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University Act, 2008 of the Punjab Legislative Assembly. The university honours the Sikh holy scripture Sri Guru Granth Sahib and is dedicated to interdisciplinary education with a special focus on Sikh studies, religious studies, comparative religion and the wider humanities and sciences.
SGGSWU offers UG, PG, Diploma and Ph.D programmes across arts, sciences, commerce, management, computer applications, education (B.Ed, M.Ed), engineering, agriculture, religious studies and Sikh studies. Admission to UG and PG programmes is largely on the merit of the qualifying examination, supplemented by programme-specific entrance / interview where required (NCTE for B.Ed; AICTE-aligned admission for MBA / MCA / B.Tech).
