About Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University

Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University (SGGSWU) is a state university located at Fatehgarh Sahib in Punjab, established in 2008 by the Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University Act, 2008 of the Punjab Legislative Assembly. The university honours the Sikh holy scripture Sri Guru Granth Sahib and is dedicated to interdisciplinary education with a special focus on Sikh studies, religious studies, comparative religion and the wider humanities and sciences.

SGGSWU offers UG, PG, Diploma and Ph.D programmes across arts, sciences, commerce, management, computer applications, education (B.Ed, M.Ed), engineering, agriculture, religious studies and Sikh studies. Admission to UG and PG programmes is largely on the merit of the qualifying examination, supplemented by programme-specific entrance / interview where required (NCTE for B.Ed; AICTE-aligned admission for MBA / MCA / B.Tech).

Eligibility

UG: 10+2 from a recognised board with the prescribed subject combination. PG: Bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline with the minimum aggregate. B.Ed / M.Ed: per NCTE norms. B.Tech: 10+2 with PCM; JEE Main / state CET / SGGSWU Entrance. MBA: Bachelor's + valid CAT / MAT / SGGSWU Entrance. Ph.D: Master's with UGC-prescribed aggregate plus SGGSWU research entrance / interview.

   Visit sggswu.edu.in for the 2026-27 admission notification with programme list, fee structure and eligibility.

   Apply online
   Register on the SGGSWU online application portal, fill personal and academic details, upload qualifying-exam marksheets and pay the application fee.
3. 3
   Entrance / interview where applicable
   For B.Ed, M.Ed, MBA, MCA, B.Tech and select PG programmes, attend the regulator-prescribed entrance / interview round.
4. 4
   Counselling and admission
   Selected candidates participate in SGGSWU counselling, exercise programme preferences and confirm allotment by reporting to the Fatehgarh Sahib campus.

Scholarships

Scholarships are available for eligible candidates at this university.

SGGSWU merit scholarships, Punjab State scholarships (Punjab Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme), SC/ST/OBC/EWS post-matric scholarships through NSP, minority scholarships and Sikh-studies fellowships.

Reservations

Punjab state reservation: SC 25%, BC 12%, EWS 10%; PwBD 3% horizontal; freedom-fighter / armed-forces / sportsperson / domicile horizontal quotas as per Punjab Government norms.
