About Sri Guru Teg Bahadur State University of Law
Sri Guru Teg Bahadur State University of Law, Punjab, established in 2020 by an Act of the Punjab state legislature, is a state law university located at Tarn Taran. The university is named after Guru Teg Bahadur — the ninth Sikh Guru and a martyr who sacrificed his life for religious freedom in 1675. SGTBSUL provides accessible legal education with state-quota seats for Punjab domicile students, complementing RGNUL Patiala (which admits through CLAT).
Sri Guru Teg Bahadur State University of Law has departments of Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Family Law, Commercial Law, International Law, Sikh Law & Heritage, and Legal Studies. Offers LLB (3-year), BA LLB (5-year), LL.M. and PhD programmes. Recognised by Bar Council of India (BCI).
