About Haridev Joshi University of Journalism & Mass Communication

Haridev Joshi University of Journalism and Mass Communication (HJU), established in 2019 by an Act of the Rajasthan state legislature, is a state journalism university located at Jagdamba Tower, Jaipur. The university is named after Haridev Joshi — three-time Chief Minister of Rajasthan and a journalist himself. HJU is the second state journalism university in India (after MCNUJC Bhopal) and aims to professionalise media education in Rajasthan.

HJU has departments of Journalism, Mass Communication, Broadcast Journalism, Digital Media, Advertising & Public Relations, Photo Journalism, Communication Research, Film Studies and Hindi Journalism. Offers BJMC, BCA (Media Tech), MJ, MAMC, MPhil and PhD programmes. Strong programmes in Hindi-medium journalism given Rajasthan's linguistic context.
