About Sikkim National Law University
Sikkim National Law University (SNLU), established in 2018 by an Act of the Sikkim state legislature, is the 25th National Law University of India. Located at Burtuk, Gangtok, SNLU is a participant in the Consortium of NLUs and one of the newer NLUs serving the NE region.
SNLU offers a 5-year integrated BA LLB (Hons.) programme. The university focuses on Constitutional Law, Tribal Rights (relevant to Sikkim's indigenous Lepcha/Bhutia/Nepali communities), Environmental Law and Comparative Legal Systems. Recognised by Bar Council of India (BCI).
BA LLB (Hons) admissions through CLAT UG conducted by Consortium of NLUs. PhD through SNLU PhD entrance. Sikkim state quota of 25% within CLAT merit for Sikkim domicile candidates.
