About NALSAR University of Law

National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR), established in 1998 by an Act of the Andhra Pradesh state legislature, is the second National Law University of India (after NLSIU Bangalore 1986). Located at Justice City, Shameerpet, Hyderabad, NALSAR is a state-funded NLU and was the model for the subsequent NLUs across India. NAAC A++ accredited.

NALSAR offers a 5-year integrated BA LLB (Hons.), 1-year LL.M., 1-year MA (Public Policy and Governance), and PhD programmes in law. Specialised research centres include Centre for Constitutional Law & Public Policy, Centre for Tax Laws, Centre for Banking & Insurance Law, Centre for International Trade & Business Law, and Centre for Aerospace Law. NALSAR has produced many distinguished Supreme Court and High Court judges and Solicitors-General.
