About Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University
Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTSAU), established in 2014 (with Telangana state formation) by an Act of the Telangana state legislature, is the principal state agricultural university of Telangana. Headquartered at Rajendranagar, Hyderabad, PJTSAU was formed from the Telangana region's share of the erstwhile Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU, united AP). The university is named after Prof. M. Jayashankar — a Telangana scholar and statehood movement leader.
PJTSAU has 7 colleges — College of Agriculture (Rajendranagar Hyderabad, Polasa Jagtial, Aswaraopet, Sircilla), College of Agricultural Engineering & Technology (Sangareddy/Kandi), College of Food Science & Technology (Rudrur), College of Community Sciences (Hyderabad). Operates 14 research stations and 16 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs). ICAR-accredited SAU.
UG admissions through TSEAMCET-AGRI (state quota 85%) and ICAR AIEEA UG (15%). PG/PhD through ICAR AIEEA PG / AICE-JRF and PJTSAU entrances.
