About University of Hyderabad

The University of Hyderabad (UoH), also known as Hyderabad Central University, is a public central university located in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, Telangana. Established by an Act of Parliament in 1974 in fulfilment of an assurance under the "Six-Point Formula" for Andhra Pradesh, UoH was conferred the "Institution of Eminence" status by the Ministry of Education in 2019. The 2,000-acre campus is one of the largest residential university campuses in India.

UoH has 5 schools and 14 departments offering integrated MA/M.Sc., MA, M.Sc., M.Tech, MBA, M.C.A., M.Phil. and PhD programmes across humanities, social sciences, sciences, mathematics & statistics, computer & information sciences, life sciences, engineering, sciences, and management. UoH does not offer conventional 3-year UG programmes; its undergraduate route is the 5-year integrated Master's.

UoH UG (5-year integrated) and PG admissions are conducted through CUET UG and CUET PG respectively, with counselling on the UoH-SAMARTH portal. Admission to MBA, M.Tech, M.C.A. and selected programmes also follows national-level scores (CAT/GATE/NIMCET/etc.) where applicable. PhD admissions are based on UGC-NET/GATE plus a UoH interview.
