About Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University

Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU), established in 2020 by an Act of the UP state legislature, is a state medical university located at Lucknow. The university is named after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. ABVMU was established to expand medical education access in UP and to coordinate medical research across the state.

ABVMU has departments of Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Pathology, Pharmacology and other medical fields. The university affiliates state government medical colleges across UP and conducts examinations for MBBS, BDS, MD/MS, MDS programmes.
