About Dr BR Ambedkar University
Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University (formerly Agra University), established in 1927 by an Act of the then United Provinces government and renamed in 1995 in honour of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, is one of India's older universities. Headquartered at Khandari, Agra, the university serves the Braj region of UP — Agra, Mathura, Firozabad, Etah, Hathras, Aligarh and Mainpuri districts. The university was originally formed by combining the universities of Lucknow, Allahabad and Aligarh for examination purposes.
BRAU Agra has 18 teaching departments organised into faculties of Arts, Sciences, Commerce, Education, Law, Engineering, and Medicine. It affiliates 700+ colleges across central UP (one of the largest affiliating universities in India by college count). NAAC accredited.
UG admissions through state centralised system on Plus Two merit. PG admissions through BRAU PG entrance or CUET PG. PhD through BRAU PhD entrance.
