About Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Urdu
Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Language University (KMCLU, formerly Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti Urdu Arabi-Farsi University), established in 2010 by an Act of the UP state legislature, is the state language university of UP dedicated to Urdu, Arabic, Persian and Hindi linguistic and cultural studies. Located at Lucknow, the university is named after Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti — the 12th-century Sufi saint of Ajmer.
KMCLU has departments of Urdu, Arabic, Persian, Hindi, English, Linguistics, Comparative Literature, Translation Studies, Mass Communication, Information Technology and Education. Offers UG, PG, MPhil and PhD programmes with strong Urdu-Arabic-Persian focus.
UG admissions through KMCLU Entrance / state centralised. PG through KMCLU PG entrance or CUET PG. PhD through KMCLU PhD entrance. Urdu/Arabic/Persian language proficiency required for select programmes.
