Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU), established in 1975 as Rohilkhand University and renamed in 1997 in honour of Mahatma Jyotirao Phule (social reformer and women's education pioneer), is a state university located at Bareilly. The university serves the Rohilkhand region of UP — Bareilly, Badaun, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur and Rampur districts.

MJPRU has 25 teaching departments organised into faculties of Arts, Sciences, Commerce, Education, Engineering and Management. It affiliates 200+ UG and PG colleges. NAAC A grade accredited.
