About Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University

Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University (RMLAU, formerly Avadh University), established in 1975 and renamed in 1998 in honour of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia (the socialist leader and freedom fighter), is a state university located at Faizabad (now Ayodhya). The university serves the Awadh region of UP — Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Amethi, Bahraich, Gonda, Balrampur, Shrawasti, Barabanki districts.

RMLAU has 30 teaching departments organised into faculties of Arts, Sciences, Commerce, Education, Engineering, Management and Performing Arts. It affiliates 250+ UG and PG colleges across the Awadh region. NAAC accredited.
