About Shiv Nadar University

Shiv Nadar University (SNU), Delhi NCR, is a private deemed university located on a 286-acre campus in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Founded in 2011 by Shiv Nadar, the founder and chairman of HCL Technologies, the university was conferred the prestigious "Institution of Eminence" recognition by the Ministry of Education in August 2022 — making it the youngest university to receive this status. Operations are managed by the philanthropic Shiv Nadar Foundation.

SNU operates 8 schools — School of Engineering, School of Natural Sciences, School of Humanities & Social Sciences, School of Management & Entrepreneurship (SME), School of Communication, School of Law, School of Education, and the Centre for the Sciences of Public Affairs and Public Policy — offering 50+ UG, PG and PhD programmes. The campus has 14,000+ trees and is fully residential, with strong research output across Big Data Analytics, Mathematics, Physics and Liberal Arts.

SNU UG admissions are conducted through SNUSAT (Shiv Nadar University Scholastic Aptitude Test) — an online home-proctored test conducted in 6 cycles between January and July 2026. Candidates may also apply through College Board SAT or ACT scores. B.Tech and BS Computer Science applicants additionally take the APT (Aptitude Test) covering Physics and Mathematics. PG admissions follow programme-specific routes including CAT (MBA), GATE (M.Tech) and the SNU PhD entrance.

SNUSAT is the primary UG entrance — an online home-proctored test conducted in 6 cycles from January to July 2026. SNU also accepts College Board SAT and ACT scores. B.Tech and BS Computer Science applicants additionally take the APT (Aptitude Test) covering Physics and Mathematics. PG admissions: MBA via CAT/GMAT, M.Tech via GATE / SNU entrance, PhD via SNU PhD entrance plus interview.

Eligibility

B.Tech / BS Computer Science: Class 10+2 from a recognised board with PCM at 60%+ aggregate; valid SNUSAT + APT score (or equivalent SAT/ACT). UG (BBA / BA / BSc / Liberal Arts): 10+2 with at least 60% aggregate; valid SNUSAT or SAT/ACT score. MBA: Bachelor's with at least 60% and a valid CAT / GMAT score. M.Tech: BE/BTech with at least 60% and a valid GATE score. PhD: Master's with 55%+ and qualifying UGC-NET / GATE / SNU PhD entrance plus interview.

Scholarships

Scholarships are available for eligible candidates at this university.

SNU offers up to 100% merit scholarships based on SNUSAT/SAT performance and Class 12 marks; the Aspire Scholarship for high-achieving students; need-based financial aid; and Government of India Post-Matric scholarships for SC/ST/OBC/EWS through the National Scholarship Portal. The SN Foundation funds full-tuition merit scholarships for select programmes.

Reservations

As a private deemed university, SNU follows its own internal admission policy. SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD candidates receive eligibility relaxations and Government of India Post-Matric scholarships through the National Scholarship Portal. SNU offers extensive merit scholarships independent of category. Single Girl Child and sports quotas per the prospectus.
