About Sam Higginbottom Institute of Agriculture, Technology & Sciences

Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences (SHUATS), established in 1910 as Allahabad Agricultural Institute by Sam Higginbottom (American missionary-agriculturist) and declared a Deemed-to-be University in 2000 under the UGC Act (renamed SHUATS in 2016), is a private deemed agricultural university located at Naini, Prayagraj. SHUATS is one of India's oldest agricultural institutions and has played a major role in agricultural research and rural development.

SHUATS has 8 schools — Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Dairy, Engineering & Technology, Sciences, Humanities, Commerce, Management, Education. Strong programmes in Dairy Technology, Agriculture and Engineering. NAAC accredited. Christian heritage institution.
