About Siddharth University

Siddharth University, Kapilvastu, established in 2015 by an Act of the UP state legislature, is a state university located at Siddharthnagar (the historic Kapilvastu — birthplace of Lord Buddha). The university serves the eastern UP region — Siddharthnagar, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar districts.

Siddharth University has 12 PG teaching departments organised into faculties of Arts, Sciences, Commerce, Education and Buddhist Studies. The Department of Buddhist Studies is research-focal given the university's location near Buddha's birthplace.
