About Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University

Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University (VBSPU), established in 1987 by the Purvanchal University Act 1986 and renamed in 2008 in honour of Veer Bahadur Singh (former CM of UP), is a state university located at Jaunpur. The university serves the Purvanchal region of UP — Jaunpur, Mau, Ghazipur, Azamgarh and Sant Kabir Nagar districts.

VBSPU has 18 PG teaching departments organised into faculties of Arts, Sciences, Commerce, Education and Management. It affiliates 100+ UG and PG colleges. NAAC accredited.
