About Gurukul Kangri Vidyapeeth

Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidyalaya (GKV), established in 1902 by Swami Shraddhanand (the noted Arya Samaj reformer and freedom fighter) and declared a Deemed-to-be University in 1962 under the UGC Act, is one of India's oldest non-government universities. Located at Kankhal, Haridwar, GKV was founded on Gurukul lines combining Vedic learning with modern subjects. The university played an important role in the freedom movement and Arya Samaj reformist agenda.

Gurukul Kangri has 9 faculties — Sciences, Arts, Commerce, Education, Indic Studies (Vedic/Sanskrit), Engineering & Technology, Pharmacy, Yoga & Naturopathy, and Law. NAAC accredited. Strong Vedic-Sanskrit programmes alongside modern disciplines.
