About Kumaun University

Kumaun University, established in 1973 by an Act of the UP state legislature (continued under Uttarakhand state after 2000), is a state university located at Nainital. The university serves the Kumaon Himalayan region of Uttarakhand — Nainital, Almora, Bageshwar, Champawat, Pithoragarh and parts of Udham Singh Nagar districts.

Kumaun U has 28 teaching departments organised into faculties of Arts, Sciences, Commerce, Education, Engineering and Management. It affiliates 50+ UG and PG colleges across the Kumaon region. NAAC A grade accredited.
