University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Roorkee was established in 2021 by Trishla Charitable Trust under the Uttarakhand State Legislature Act. It is one of the newest private universities in Uttarakhand, evolved from the College of Engineering Roorkee (COER) — a long-established engineering college founded in 1998. The university is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 and is approved by AICTE, PCI and NCTE for its respective professional programmes. The campus is located on the Vardhman Puram, Roorkee-Haridwar Road, approximately 5 km from IIT Roorkee, spread over 25+ acres.
UET Roorkee offers programmes primarily focused on engineering, computing and applied sciences.
