About University of Patanjali

University of Patanjali (UoP), Haridwar was established in 2006 by Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust under the Uttarakhand State Legislature Act, with formal university status conferred in 2017. The university is the academic wing of the Patanjali Yogpeeth complex founded by Acharya Balkrishna and Swami Ramdev. It is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956 and operates from a sprawling campus at Bahadrabad on Delhi-Haridwar National Highway 58, adjacent to the main Patanjali Yogpeeth.

UoP offers integrated and specialised programmes focused on yoga, Ayurveda, Indian knowledge systems, alternative medicine and traditional sciences. Flagship offerings include BA-MA Yoga (integrated), BA / MA Yogic Sciences, BSc Yoga & Naturopathy, BSc / MSc Ayurvedic Pharmaceutical Sciences, BSc / MSc Medicinal Plants, BSc Vedic Sciences, BBA / MBA, BA Sanskrit, BA Indian Philosophy, BEd / MEd, MA Sanskrit, MA Vedic Sciences, PG Diplomas in Yoga and PhD across disciplines. Admissions are made through the university's own entrance test (PUEE) and qualifying merit; international students undergo a separate interview.

UoP is recognised as a premier institution for yoga, Ayurveda and Vedic learning in India. The campus offers a yoga research laboratory, Vedic gurukulam-style residential learning, Ayurvedic pharmacy unit, Indian medicinal plants garden, organic farm, and free yoga camps for students. Graduates from UoP are absorbed across Patanjali Wellness Centres, Ayurvedic colleges, yoga studios globally, government AYUSH organisations, and continue into research in traditional sciences. The campus offers separate hostels, vegetarian mess, library and on-campus medical facility.

University of Patanjali conducts its own entrance test (PUEE) for Yoga, Ayurvedic Sciences, Vedic Sciences and integrated programmes. Some programmes also admit based on qualifying examination merit. International students undergo a separate interview process.

Eligibility

10+2 in any stream with 50% for UG Yoga/Ayurvedic; Bachelor's degree with 50% for PG programmes; physical fitness required for yoga programmes; English/Hindi/Sanskrit proficiency for select courses.
