About Uttarakhand Open University

Uttarakhand Open University (UOU), established in 2005 by the UOU Act of the Uttarakhand state legislature, is the state open university of Uttarakhand. Headquartered at Haldwani, Nainital district, UOU provides Open and Distance Learning to learners across the Himalayan state. UGC-DEB recognised.

UOU offers UG (BA, BCom, BBA, BCA, BSc), PG (MA, MCom, MSc, MBA, MCA, MSW), MPhil, PhD, Certificate and Diploma programmes through ODL and online modes. The university has 11 regional centres and 200+ study centres across Uttarakhand. Special programmes for hill-region learners.

Admissions are rolling — two intakes annually (January and July cycles). UG on Plus Two pass; PG on bachelor degree.
