About Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Uttarakhand University of Horticulture and Forestry
Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali Uttarakhand University of Horticulture and Forestry (VCSG-UUHF), established in 2011 by an Act of the Uttarakhand state legislature, is the state horticulture and forestry university of Uttarakhand. Located at Bharsar, Pauri Garhwal, the university is named after Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali — a freedom fighter and Garhwal Rifles soldier who refused to fire on freedom fighters during the 1930 Peshawar revolt.
VCSG-UUHF has 2 colleges — College of Horticulture (Bharsar) and College of Forestry (Ranichauri). Specialises in hill agriculture, fruits/spices/medicinal plants research relevant to Himalayan climates. ICAR-accredited.
UG admissions through VCSG-UUHF Entrance (state 85%) and ICAR AIEEA UG (15%). PG/PhD through ICAR AIEEA PG / AICE-JRF.
