Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU) is a public state agricultural university with its main campus at Lam, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. Established on 12 June 1964 (as Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University, renamed in 1996 in honour of the freedom fighter Acharya N.G. Ranga), ANGRAU is the lead state agricultural university for Andhra Pradesh, recognised by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
ANGRAU operates 12 colleges and 25+ research stations spread across Andhra Pradesh, offering 4 UG, 22 PG and 16 PhD programmes spanning Agriculture, Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering, Home Science, Food Science & Technology, Forestry, Fisheries, Agribusiness Management, and Sericulture. The flagship UG programme is the 4-year B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture.
ANGRAU UG admissions are primarily through AP EAPCET (Agriculture stream) and AGRICET (for diploma holders) for the 4-year UG programmes. PG admissions follow AP PGECET; PhD admissions through the ANGRAU research entrance examination plus interview, with ICAR-AICE All India Entrance also accepted for ICAR-funded seats.
