About Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University

Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University (ANGRAU) is a public state agricultural university with its main campus at Lam, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. Established on 12 June 1964 (as Andhra Pradesh Agricultural University, renamed in 1996 in honour of the freedom fighter Acharya N.G. Ranga), ANGRAU is the lead state agricultural university for Andhra Pradesh, recognised by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).

ANGRAU operates 12 colleges and 25+ research stations spread across Andhra Pradesh, offering 4 UG, 22 PG and 16 PhD programmes spanning Agriculture, Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering, Home Science, Food Science & Technology, Forestry, Fisheries, Agribusiness Management, and Sericulture. The flagship UG programme is the 4-year B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture.

ANGRAU UG admissions are primarily through AP EAPCET (Agriculture stream) and AGRICET (for diploma holders) for the 4-year UG programmes. PG admissions follow AP PGECET; PhD admissions through the ANGRAU research entrance examination plus interview, with ICAR-AICE All India Entrance also accepted for ICAR-funded seats.

B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture, B.Tech (Agri Engg), B.F.Sc, B.Sc (Hons) Horticulture admissions are through AP EAPCET (Agriculture stream). Diploma-stream lateral entry is via AGRICET / AGRIENGGCET. PG admissions follow AP PGECET; PhD admissions through the ANGRAU research entrance. ICAR-AICE All India Entrance is accepted for ICAR-allocated seats (15%).

Eligibility

B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture / B.F.Sc / B.Sc Horticulture: Class 10+2 from a recognised board with PCB at 50%+ aggregate (45% for SC/ST/BC) and a valid AP EAPCET 2026 (Agri) rank. B.Tech Agri Engg: 10+2 with PCM at 45%+ and a valid AP EAPCET (Engineering) rank. PG: B.Sc / B.Tech / B.F.Sc in the relevant discipline with at least 65% OPGPA / 7.0 OGPA on a 10-point scale and a valid AP PGECET / ICAR-AICE score. PhD: Master's with 65%+ OPGPA / 7.5 OGPA and qualifying ANGRAU PhD entrance / ICAR-AICE plus interview.

Andhra Pradesh state reservation policy applies: SC 15%, ST 6%, BC-A 7%, BC-B 10%, BC-C 1%, BC-D 7%, BC-E 4%, EWS 10%, plus 5% PwBD horizontal. 85% local AP-domicile quota; 15% reserved for ICAR-AICE All India Quota for UG and PG.
