About Acharya Nagarjuna University

Acharya Nagarjuna University (ANU) is a public state university located at Nagarjuna Nagar, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. Established in 1976 by the Andhra Pradesh State Legislature and named in honour of the celebrated 2nd-century Buddhist philosopher Acharya Nagarjuna, the university serves the central and coastal Andhra Pradesh region with 480+ affiliated colleges across Guntur, Krishna, Prakasam and Nellore districts.

ANU has 39 university teaching departments organised into 8 faculties — Arts, Commerce & Management, Sciences, Engineering, Pharmacy, Education, Law and Humanities — plus a strong distance-education programme through the ANU Centre for Distance Education (ANUCDE). The university offers UG, PG, MPhil and PhD programmes including BBA, B.Com, B.Sc, B.Tech, MA, M.Sc, M.Com, MBA, MCA, M.Tech and LLB/LLM.

ANU UG/PG admissions are conducted through a mix of state CETs (AP EAPCET for engineering, AP ICET for MBA/MCA, AP LAWCET for law, AP PGCET for general PG) and the ANU-conducted ANUPGCET for select PG programmes. PhD admissions follow the ANU research entrance examination plus interview. NATA is accepted for B.Arch.
