About Adikavi Nannaya University
Adikavi Nannaya University (AKNU) is a public state university located in Rajamahendravaram (formerly Rajahmundry), East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. Established on 22 April 2006 by the Andhra Pradesh State Legislature and named after the 11th-century Telugu poet Adikavi Nannaya — author of the first Telugu translation of the Mahabharata — AKNU serves the East Godavari, West Godavari and Krishna districts.
AKNU operates 4 main constituent colleges — University College of Arts & Commerce, University College of Engineering, University College of Education, and University College of Science & Technology — plus 200+ affiliated colleges across the East Godavari region. It offers UG (BA, B.Sc, B.Com, B.Ed, B.Tech, B.Pharm), PG (MA, M.Sc, M.Com, MBA, MCA, M.Tech, M.Ed), MPhil and PhD programmes.
AKNU admissions are entrance-based across the AP state CETs: AP EAPCET (B.Tech, B.Pharm), AP PGCET (general PG), AP ICET (MBA, MCA), AP LAWCET (LLB), AP PGECET (M.Tech, M.Pharm). UG admissions to BA/B.Sc/B.Com follow OAMDC merit. PhD admissions through the AKNU research entrance plus interview, with UGC-NET / GATE accepted.
