About Central University of Andhra Pradesh
Central University of Andhra Pradesh (CUAP) is a public central university located in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. Established in 2019 by the Central Universities Act, the institution was created to fulfil a commitment under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014 (which bifurcated Andhra Pradesh and Telangana). CUAP is funded by the Government of India through the University Grants Commission.
CUAP currently operates 12 academic departments offering undergraduate, postgraduate, MPhil and PhD programmes spanning humanities, social sciences, sciences, mathematics & statistics, computer science, languages, and management. The university is on a transit campus while its permanent campus on the outskirts of Anantapur is under development.
CUAP UG admissions are conducted through CUET UG and PG admissions through CUET PG, both administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA). After the CUET results, candidates register on the CUAP admission portal at cuapcuet.samarth.edu.in for centralised counselling. PhD admissions follow CUAP's own research entrance plus interview, accepting UGC-NET, CSIR-NET and GATE scores.
