About Dr. Y.S.R. Horticultural University

Dr. Y.S.R. Horticultural University (DRYSRHU) is a public state university located in Venkataramannagudem, West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. Established in 2007 by an Act of the Andhra Pradesh State Legislature when the horticultural-education stream was carved out of ANGRAU, DRYSRHU is among India's few state universities dedicated exclusively to horticulture education and research.

DRYSRHU operates two main constituent colleges — the YSR Horticulture College & Research Institute at Venkataramannagudem and the Horticulture College & Research Institute at Anantharajupet (Kadapa) — plus 25+ research stations across Andhra Pradesh. It offers B.Sc (Hons) Horticulture (4-year UG), M.Sc Horticulture (PG), and PhD programmes in horticulture, plant pathology, entomology, fruit science, vegetable science, plantation crops and floriculture.

DRYSRHU UG admissions are conducted through HORTICET (Horticulture Common Entrance Test) for B.Sc (Hons) Horticulture and through ICAR AIEEA for the All India Quota seats (15%). PG admissions follow ICAR AICE-PG; PhD admissions through the DRYSRHU research entrance plus interview, accepting ICAR AICE-PhD scores.
