About Dravidian University
Dravidian University is a state university in Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh, established by the AP Government in 1997 with a unique mandate to promote teaching and research in the Dravidian languages — Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam — alongside comparative literature, philosophy and Dravidian cultural studies. The campus at Srinivasavanam, Kuppam, also houses departments in biotechnology, biochemistry, folklore and performing arts.
Admission to UG, PG, M.Phil and Ph.D programmes is conducted through the Dravidian University Common Entrance Test (DUCET / DURCET); several PG programmes also admit candidates through AP PGCET. As a special feature, 10% of seats are reserved for candidates from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala — reflecting the university's pan-Dravidian charter.
The notification, application schedule and seat matrix for each session are published on the official portal at dravidianuniversity.ac.in.
