About Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Anantapur (JNTUA) is a public state technical university located in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. Established on 24 August 2008 by an Act of the Andhra Pradesh State Legislature when JNTU Hyderabad was trifurcated, JNTUA is the affiliating technical university for the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh, with 100+ affiliated engineering, pharmacy, management and architecture colleges across Anantapur, Kurnool, Kadapa and Chittoor districts.

JNTUA operates the constituent JNTUA College of Engineering at Anantapur, JNTUA CEK at Kalikiri, JNTUA CEP at Pulivendula, plus the School of Management Studies. It offers UG (B.Tech, B.Pharm), PG (M.Tech, M.Pharm, MBA, MCA, M.Sc), and PhD programmes in engineering & technology, pharmacy, management, sciences and humanities.

JNTUA B.Tech and B.Pharm admissions are conducted through AP EAPCET (Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test) — administered by APSCHE — with centralised counselling. M.Tech / M.Pharm admit via AP PGECET; MBA/MCA via AP ICET. PhD admissions are through the JNTUA research entrance plus interview, accepting GATE / UGC-NET scores.

AP EAPCET is the primary entrance for JNTUA B.Tech and B.Pharm admissions across the Rayalaseema region. Counselling is conducted by APSCHE. M.Tech / M.Pharm admit via AP PGECET; MBA/MCA via AP ICET. PhD admissions through the JNTUA research entrance plus interview.

Eligibility

B.Tech: Class 10+2 from a recognised board with PCM at 45%+ aggregate (40% for SC/ST/BC/EBC) and a valid AP EAPCET 2026 rank. B.Pharm: 10+2 with PCB at 45%+ and a valid AP EAPCET rank. M.Tech: BE/BTech in the relevant branch with at least 50% (45% reserved) and a valid AP PGECET / GATE score. MBA/MCA: Bachelor's with at least 50% and a valid AP ICET score. PhD: Master's with 55%+ and qualifying UGC-NET / GATE / JNTUA PhD entrance plus interview.

JNTUA offers Andhra Pradesh State Government Post-Matric scholarships for SC/ST/BC/EBC, the Jagananna Vidya Deevena fee reimbursement scheme, the Single Girl Child concession, JNTUA merit scholarships for top AP EAPCET rankers in Rayalaseema, and Government of India Post-Matric scholarships through the National Scholarship Portal.

Reservations

Andhra Pradesh state reservation policy applies to AP EAPCET counselling: SC 15%, ST 6%, BC-A 7%, BC-B 10%, BC-C 1%, BC-D 7%, BC-E 4%, EWS 10%, plus 5% PwBD horizontal. 85% local AP-domicile quota; 15% open to non-locals. Sports, NCC and women's reservation as per the JNTUA prospectus.
