About Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Kakinada (JNTUK) is a public state technical university located in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. Established on 24 August 2008 by an Act of the Andhra Pradesh State Legislature when JNTU Hyderabad was trifurcated, JNTUK is the affiliating technical university for the coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions, with 250+ affiliated engineering, pharmacy, management and architecture colleges.

JNTUK has 7 university constituent campuses (JNTUK Kakinada, Vizianagaram, Pulivendula and several specialised colleges) offering UG, PG, MPhil and PhD programmes in engineering & technology, pharmacy (B.Pharm, Pharm.D), management (MBA, MCA), sciences and humanities. The university also runs a strong School of Management Studies, School of Pharmacy and the JNTUK Research Centre.

JNTUK B.Tech and B.Pharm admissions are conducted through AP EAPCET (Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test) — the state-conducted CET administered by APSCHE — with centralised counselling. M.Tech / M.Pharm admit via AP PGECET; MBA/MCA via AP ICET; pharmacy doctoral via NIPER JEE / AP PGECET. PhD admissions follow JNTUK's own research entrance plus interview.

AP EAPCET (Engineering, Agriculture and Pharmacy Common Entrance Test) is the primary entrance for JNTUK B.Tech and B.Pharm admissions across coastal AP and Rayalaseema. Counselling is conducted by APSCHE. M.Tech / M.Pharm admit via AP PGECET; MBA/MCA via AP ICET. PhD admissions through the JNTUK PhD entrance plus interview, accepting GATE / UGC-NET scores.

Eligibility

B.Tech: Class 10+2 from a recognised board with PCM at 45%+ aggregate (40% for SC/ST/BC/EBC) and a valid AP EAPCET 2026 rank. B.Pharm: 10+2 with PCB at 45%+ and a valid AP EAPCET rank. M.Tech: BE/BTech in the relevant branch with at least 50% (45% reserved) and a valid AP PGECET / GATE score. MBA/MCA: Bachelor's with at least 50% and a valid AP ICET score. PhD: Master's with 55%+ and qualifying UGC-NET / GATE / JNTUK PhD entrance plus interview.

Reservations

Andhra Pradesh state reservation policy applies to AP EAPCET counselling: SC 15%, ST 6%, BC-A 7%, BC-B 10%, BC-C 1%, BC-D 7%, BC-E 4%, EWS 10%, plus 5% PwBD horizontal. 85% local AP-domicile quota applies; 15% open to non-locals. Sports, NCC and women's reservation as per the JNTUK prospectus.
