About Sri Padmavati Mahila Vishwavidyalayam

Sri Padmavati Mahila Vishwavidyalayam (SPMVV) is a public state women's university located in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Established in 1983 by the Andhra Pradesh State Legislature, SPMVV is one of India's few exclusive women's universities and is dedicated to the higher education and empowerment of women through the arts, sciences, professional and applied disciplines.

SPMVV operates from a 138.43-acre campus and offers 60+ programmes across UG, PG, MPhil and PhD levels — covering arts, sciences, commerce, education, engineering & technology, pharmacy, nursing, law, physical education, and home science. Flagship programmes include B.Tech, B.Pharm, B.Sc Nursing, B.Ed, B.A LL.B (5-year integrated), B.P.Ed and a wide range of MA, M.Sc and M.Com programmes.

SPMVV admissions are entrance-based: UG programmes admit through the AP CETs (AP EAPCET for engineering/pharmacy, NATA for B.Arch, OAMDC for the 5-year integrated law programme). PG admissions follow AP PGCET; some diploma and PG courses follow direct admission on merit. PhD admissions are through the SPMVV research entrance plus interview.

Eligibility

UG: Class 10+2 from a recognised board with subject combinations as per programme; minimum 45-50% (relaxation for reserved categories). B.Tech: 10+2 with PCM at 45%+ and a valid AP EAPCET 2026 rank. B.Pharm: 10+2 with PCB at 45%+ and AP EAPCET rank. B.Arch: 10+2 with PCM at 50%+ and a valid NATA score. PG: Bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline with at least 50% (45% for reserved categories) and a valid AP PGCET / SPMVV entrance score. PhD: Master's with 55%+ and qualifying UGC-NET / GATE / SPMVV PhD entrance plus interview. Admission is restricted to women candidates only.

SPMVV — being a women's university — offers a comprehensive support framework: AP State Government Post-Matric scholarships for SC/ST/BC/EBC women, the Jagananna Vidya Deevena fee reimbursement scheme, the Single Girl Child concession, the SPMVV Women's Empowerment Scholarships, and Government of India Post-Matric scholarships through the National Scholarship Portal. Free hostel for SC/ST students.

Reservations

SPMVV admits ONLY women candidates. Andhra Pradesh state reservation policy applies to AP CET counselling: SC 15%, ST 6%, BC-A 7%, BC-B 10%, BC-C 1%, BC-D 7%, BC-E 4%, EWS 10%, plus 5% PwBD horizontal. 85% local AP-domicile quota. Sports, NCC and Single Girl Child quotas per the SPMVV prospectus.
