About Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences
Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) is a public state university and tertiary-care medical institute located in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Established in 1993 and funded by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), SVIMS is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the National Medical Commission (NMC). It is among Andhra Pradesh's premier medical institutes, offering super-speciality medical care alongside teaching and research.
SVIMS operates as a postgraduate-and-doctoral focused medical university with the Sri Venkateswara Medical College as its undergraduate constituent. The institute offers MD, MS, DM, M.Ch, DNB, MDS, B.Sc Nursing, M.Sc Nursing, M.Phil Clinical Psychology, Allied Health Sciences and PhD programmes across general medicine, surgery and 30+ super-speciality disciplines.
SVIMS PG medical (MD/MS) admissions follow NEET PG with the seat allocation split 50% AIQ (counselled by MCC) and 50% state quota (counselled by NTRUHS / Andhra Pradesh state authorities). MBBS admissions to SV Medical College follow NEET UG via NTRUHS state counselling. DM/M.Ch super-speciality admissions follow NEET SS; DNB via NEET PG; allied health and nursing via SVIMS-conducted entrance.
