About Aryabhatta Knowledge University

Aryabhatta Knowledge University (AKU) is a state university located at Mithapur, Patna in Bihar, established in 2008 by the Aryabhatta Knowledge University Act, 2008 of the Bihar Legislative Assembly. The university is named after the 5th-century mathematician-astronomer Aryabhata and is the principal affiliating university for technical, medical, paramedical and management colleges across Bihar.

AKU offers UG, PG and Ph.D programmes — B.Tech, M.Tech, BBA, MBA, MCA, BCA, MBBS, BDS, B.Pharm and allied health programmes — through more than 280 affiliated colleges. B.Tech admission is through BCECE / UGEAC counselling (with JEE Main also accepted); MBBS / BDS admission is through NEET UG; MBA admission uses BCECE PE / CAT / MAT; medical PG uses NEET PG.
