About Bihar Animal Sciences University
Bihar Animal Sciences University (BASU) is a state university located at Patna in Bihar, established in 2016 by the Bihar Animal Sciences University Act, 2016 of the Bihar Legislative Assembly through the bifurcation of the Veterinary College and Bihar Veterinary College from RPCAU Pusa. BASU is the principal university for veterinary and animal sciences education in Bihar.
BASU offers UG (B.V.Sc & A.H.), PG (M.V.Sc) and Ph.D programmes in veterinary sciences, animal husbandry, dairy technology, fisheries and allied disciplines. UG admission is through the Veterinary Council of India's NEET UG-based counselling under the All India Pre-Veterinary Test (15% AIQ) and Bihar State Counselling (85% State Quota); PG admission uses ICAR AIEEA PG and the BASU PG Entrance.
