About Bhupendra Narayan Mandal University

Bhupendra Narayan Mandal University (BNMU) is a state university located at Madhepura in north Bihar, established in 1992 by the Bihar Legislative Assembly. The university is named after Dr. Bhupendra Narayan Mandal — a freedom fighter and politician — and is the principal affiliating university for colleges across Madhepura, Saharsa, Supaul, Khagaria and Araria districts.

BNMU offers UG, PG, M.Phil and Ph.D programmes across arts, sciences, commerce, management, law, education and computer applications. UG admission for 2026-27 is through CUET UG (NTA) and merit-based registration on the university portal; PG admission uses the BNMU PG Common Entrance Test or CUET PG.
